“Epic’s Journey” -Feature Length Film (HD)

“The shape the earth takes to tell it’s stories...”

Unravelling the myths and legends of the North “Epic’s Journey” tells how the North European peoples have always travelled -and how the stories have travelled with them.

First we briefly tell about the oldest survived epical story in the world - and the oldest fictional story that has been found in written form - the story of King GILGAMESH.

We'll borrow chapters from Finnish KALEVALA (the oldest EPIC in Europe), stories from the SAMI peoples, VIKING stories and Islandic SAGAS, British BEOWULF and KING ARTHUR; they all tell about larger than life heroes and their amazing journeys, defeating monsters and defending loved ones, magical swords and hidden treasures, in a landscape filled with death, danger and supernatural beings.

All of these legends influenced each other and also contemporary literature; most notably JRR TOLKIEN's trilogy: Lord of the Rings.

Epic’s Journey tells these stories with the help of a Hollywood Star Narrator, storybook animations and stunning landscape and journey footage, where magical Northern scenery glides by... filmed  in Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, England, Lapland, Germany...

All these legends were songs first; the soundtrack plays an important part, featuring leading North European musicians. It combines traditional and new, howling with the sand storms and moaning with the glaziers.

The overall style of the production is modern and fast paced. It will also appeal to younger audiences who already know many elements of the ancient legends through modern versions (Beowulf, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter...), movies, comics and computer games.
